Grande: uma 'cidade
artificial' lotada nos feriados de verão por 1 milhão e meio
de pessoas, principalmente de São Paulo... ... no
resto do ano com 200 mil habitantes vivendo sobretudo nos
bairros bastante precários mais afastados da praia,
tocando as reservas de mata atlântica da Serra do Mar... ... única
coisa que a separa dos 20 milhões da gigantesca Grande S.Paulo,
a meros 75 Km. Nesse
lugar oferecem alguma terra à Trópis pela primeira vez: 2 hectares
de uma terra de manejo difícil, quase pântano. Valerá
a pena? |

Praia
Grande ('long beach'): an
artificial city stuffed in Summer holidays with 1,5 million
people, mostly from S.Paulo... ... and
with 200 000 permanent inhabitants living the rest of the year
in somewhat precarious quarters far from the shore, touching the 'Serra do Mar'
Atlantic Forest reservations... ... the
only thing to separate it from the giant 20-million Great S.Paulo, just 75 Km
away. Here
for the first time someone
offers land to Tropis: 2 hectares difficult, swampy land. Worthwhile?

de Paula e Alisson), Wagner Sá,
e o grupo teatral de Chico Villa.
Esta
talvez seja uma das últimas fotos do diretor teatral Chico
Villa (perto da porta) - que sofreu um AVC fatal em 2005.
Com
isso, nos sentimos ainda mais gratos por todo e entusiasmo que Chico
e seu grupo trouxeram à Trópis naqueles dias!

who helped in the work's last days: Paulo and Nilza da Paz Alves (Paula's
and Alisson's parents), Wagner Sá
and Chico Villa's theatre group.
This
may be one of the last photographs of theatre director Chico
Villa (next to the door) - who died from a brain vascular accident
in 2005.
We are thus
especially thankful for all the enthusiasm he and his group brought
to Tropis on those days!

(Universidade Livre de Música - SP).

o TEMA - Teatro Monte Azul, que faz uma apresentação no
espaço em frente à casa,
a seção brasileira do movimento jovem inter-nacional IDEM
('identidade pela initiativa'), diversas vezes Thomas Ufer com
o pessoal do Holos Group...

who performed in front of the house,
the Brazilian section of international IDEM youth movement ('identity
through initiative'), several times Thomas Ufer with the Holos Group
people...

Isso
reforça nossa idéia de que no futuro uma Casa Trópis maior ou uma
Aldeia Trópis
(como previsto pelo Projeto Oca Mundi)
deve ter uma forte função de hospedagem -
oferecendo
a pessoas a oportunidade de lidar com o Convívio e outras questões
mediante uma experiência de 'vida simples' autêntica -
mesmo se acompanhada de conteúdos culturais de alto nível.
O
ano de 2005 irá sugerir fortemente, porém, que o desenvolvimento
direto do Projeto Oca Mundi deve sofrer uma pausa...

reinforces our idea that a future bigger Tropis house or
Tropis village
(as previewed in Oca Mundi Project)
will have quite much a HOSTING function -
where
people will have the opportunity to deal with the Co-Living and
other questions
through an authentic 'simple life' experience, even if accompanied by a high-level
cultural contents.
Yet,
2005 suggested strongly that Oca Mundi's direct development
should be paused...

repente percebemos que diversos dos jovens que carregam o ideal da
Trópis haviam entrado em faculdades. Ralf Rickli julgou que
também era a hora de concluir o curso de Pedagogia na USP
(interrompido em favor do desenvolvimento da Trópis)
- quem sabe também no rumo de um doutorado em Antropologia
Educacional:
não
uma retirada e sim uma estratégia para o maior alcance da Pedagogia
do Convívio e da para uma melhor sustentabilidade da Trópis.

Sociais) e Cleber Moreira (Geografia) encontram Ralf Rickli
no dia do seu aniversário, depois da aula.
Além

David Alves tinha entrado em Filosofia e Douglas Alcantara

several of the Tropis' ideal-
carrying youths had entered University. Ralf Rickli felt it was
also time to go back to USP to conclude the Education Course he had
paused in favour of Tropis development
- thinking also about a doctor's degree in Education Anthropology after
that:

than a retreat, a strategy for Co-Living Education's wider reach and
Tropis' better sustainability.

Filmes
semanais na casa, saraus junto à fogueira e luaus na praia, um ou
outro passeio de bicicleta a uma cachoeira, e ainda a participação
de Paula da Paz em um grupo de capoeira: isso tudo começou a criar
uma rede de relações locais - mas ainda 'não chegou lá':
o
modo de viver local é totalmente diferente do de São Paulo e exige
claramente o desenvolvimento de novas estratégias!

Weekly
films in the house, guitar and singing evenings by the fireside or
on the beach and occasional bike rides to waterfalls, as well as
Paula da Paz involvement with a capoeira group, did start to build a
network of local relationships - but did not yet quite reach the
point:
the
local way-of-life is totally different than in Sao Paulo, and
will clearly demand the development of new strategies!

dois jovens locais - Marcelo Kocian and Angeliki dos Santos -
que nunca voltaram depois disso! |
